Field day at Nimmer Turf Farms

Following the Mid Winter TPI Conference in Savannah Georgia, Trebro hosted a field day at Nimmer Turf Farms, in Ridgeland South Carolina. This was truly an international event. Turf growers from Canada, Australia, South Africa, Iceland, and USA were in attendance. The Trebro AutoStack and AutoSlab automatic stacking turf harvesters were set up to harvest dormant warm season Bermuda and Centipede turfgrass. Both machines operated side by side in the same conditions giving everyone the opportunity to compare the two harvesting techniques. The AutoSlab stacked 500 square foot pallets of 16" X 24" slabs. The AutoStack produced 500 square foot pallets of small rolls, the rolls were 24" wide by 5 feet long. Either way it was obvious how both machines could substantially reduce labor requirements. After the demonstration everyone enjoyed a Barbeque lunch and an opportunity to visit with other turf growers from around the world..
